Hi! I’m Yuna Bae, a PhD candidate in Applied Linguistics at Northern Arizona University. My research focuses on speech perception and production, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) applications, speech technology, language assessment in second language acquisition.

I’m especially interested in how AI systems perceive and process diverse accented speech and what this means for second language learning and teaching. I also enjoy teaching linguistics and language-related courses.

Outside of research and teaching, I enjoy walking, traveling, and playing the piano.
